[ESO] Weekend Update and still more screenies
On my VR1 Dragonknight, I finished up Stros M’Kai and moved on to Betnikh, but I’ve been wanting to work on my melee sorcerer more, so she was mostly shelved this weekend. I say “mostly” because I looked through my add-ons and since the Minion Add-On Manager didn’t work for me before I’d been manually updating them, but I have just enough of them that it’s kind of tedious to do, so…. I installed Minion again and this time it seems to be working how it should and actually is updating the add-ons. One of the add-ons promoted on the Minion page was a lorebook one, which I’d been hoping to see. I thought I was doing well in finding them, and I’ve found they tend to hide at the top of abandoned towers, randomly in buildings that you’d normally just run by, etc, so I’ve been making sure to explore the nooks and crannies to get them.
But no, this add-on showed me that I’ve missed a ton. Interestingly, there are usually 2-4 locations where any given book can be found, so at 1st the map looks really cluttered, but it doesn’t take grabbing very many of them to clean it up a lot either. So anyway, after installing this add-on I took the DK back through Stonefalls and Deshaan to pick up what I’d missed. I’d missed a LOT in Stonefalls and as I ran around I found 2 quest hubs that I’d missed somehow, which even included the main zone story line. Since any quest completion, even for a gray quest will give Veteran XP, I decided to run the quests. The story was pretty cool, I thought, dealing with the 2nd of the “Brothers of Strife” and so I ended up getting a skill point for the quest completion too.
The final fight in Stonefalls bugged out on my 1st time through, though, so I left for Deshaan and found I’d done a lot better in that zone — I’d only missed 4 lore books. And a few locations, and a few quests, but only 1 quest hub, at least and it only had 2 quests in it anyway. And then back to Stonefalls were I re-did the final fight and this time it didn’t bug out, so I’m now I suppose that I’m done with the zone. On the other hand, I’ve not done all the anchors, and I think I’ve got a world boss or 3 to kill there still too, so…. perhaps not yet.
Back to the sorcerer since he’s so close to getting his Bound Armor and his Surge skills that will enable him to better be the melee specialist that I want him to be. Overall I got him from 21 to 27 this weekend. Finished up Stormhaven and moved on to Rivenspire zone, though I wasn’t 100% sure which direction to go, so I actually went to Bangkorai 1st and ran around grabbing lore books, overland skyshards, and wayshrines for a little while there before opening the map and figuring out how to get to Rivenspire instead.
He’s got both the Bound Armor and the Surge skills and is now actively working them up for their morphs that improve them that much more. Now that I’ve got Surge I’ve got my weapon damage capped on both my dual-wield and on my bow, and it makes a definite difference in how fast I’m dropping the mobs. Can’t wait until I morph to Critical Surge and actually heal myself while fighting. My character sheet says 27% crit rate with dual-wield and 32% with the bow, plus I’ve had the Thief stone, which is supposed to add an additional 5% to that which the sheet doesn’t reflect, but I just found the Shadow stone last night and decided that 27% or 32% is plenty high enough and so took Shadow to improve the critical damage done instead. I can always switch back later if I don’t feel like it’s helping enough.
When I was level 25, a call went out into House Stalwart’s guild chat for some help in the Wayrest Sewers dungeon. A trio’d gone in, but were having some trouble. I offered to join as a 4th, and once inside, well…. the trio was all level 18 in this level 20-23 dungeon. The tank was a templar in heavy armor using a sword and shield, but he only had 686 HP. The healer was also a templar and was only using class skills and hadn’t ever focused on them and thus was running out of mana in a hurry, so after a couple of very frustrating fights and wipes, I offered to swap over to my level 20 healing nightblade instead. We still had our share of “interesting times” and more than a few wipes, but we still managed to get to the final boss, and even get her down to about 3,000 HP remaining out of her initial 16,000-ish, but we never quite could finish her off before armor broke and we didn’t feel like running out to repair and then coming back in. It was still a fun time, and since ZOS hasn’t updated to the “only 2 chests per dungeon but provide loot to all” thing yet, everyone got a couple of chests and some decent loot even without the completion, so it was a fun run overall.
And now, for more screenies. As before: Possible spoilers.
