Island Transformed into Halloween Transylvania for Club Penguin’s Most Anticipated Event of the Year
Ghosts and goblins invading the most awesome kids’ hot spot online? This week, Disney’s Club Penguin (www.clubpenguin.com) – the #1 virtual world for kids – kicks off its annual Halloween Party! Last year more than 3 million players celebrated Halloween at this massive in-world party, making it one of Club Penguin’s most anticipated events of the year. This year, the island will be transformed into Halloween Transylvania with spooky trees, carved pumpkins and many other features created especially for this exciting event. The Halloween Party will begin on October 20 and run until November 1. Penguins are invited to put on their coolest costumes ever and join the fun.
Some highlights of the 2011 Club Penguin Halloween Party:
- Island Transformation: The Island will morph into a Halloween Transylvania with exciting changes including a dark background complete with full moon, trick-or-treating adventures for Penguins and a haunted Island experience.
- New Games: A new Halloween Scavenger Hunt will take place during the party. Kids can follow clues and locate ghosts to receive a new game background.
- Costumes: Monster Catcher and Ghost Sheets costumes are some of the many Halloween Party costumes and accessories available for players.
- Famous Penguin Visits: Players will be able to interact with rarely-seen Famous Penguins, including Aunt Arctic and Gary the Gadget Guy during the Halloween and Anniversary Parties.
- More Role Playing: A new stage – Night of the Living Sled: The Play – will go live, where kids can role play and re-create the popular video “The Night of the Living Sled.”
- Prizes: Players who visit 10 “Trick or Treat” igloos in one session will win a special stamp.
- Bigger Celebrations: Club Penguin’s 6th Anniversary Party will be held in the Coffee Shop in conjunction with the Halloween Party, making this the biggest party yet.
IRVINE, Calif. – Oct. 19, 2011 – Massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, Elsword, is ringing in the spookiest holiday of the year by introducing all-new Halloween-inspired content. For a limited time only, players can battle their way through intense dungeons and menacing adversaries with an added, “spooktacular” twist.
The holiday content offers players the chance to navigate through a special Halloween-themed dungeon, as well as recruit the exclusive Hallow Witch pet as a sidekick. The limited edition Hallow Witch is the newest addition to Elsword’s recently added pet system, however players will need to act quickly, as both the Hallow Witch and Halloween dungeon vanish on Nov. 2. To add to the apparitional atmosphere, gamers can also don costumes and attend eerie events through the end of the month. Offering players a creative outlet as well, Elsword is following up their Creepiest Wallpaper Contest with a season-appropriate Pumpkin-Carving Contest through Oct. 27. Gamers can submit their most artistic concepts now for the chance to have their creations appear on loading screens in-game.

Japanese MMO Publisher Seeks Partners for Worldwide Distribution
Los Angeles – Oct. 17, 2011 – Leading Japanese massively multiplayer online (MMO) game publisher Gamepot Inc. is continuing its march to bring Wizardry Online to gamers around the world. Launching the open beta in Japan last week to an overwhelmingly positive response, Gamepot quickly added multiple new servers to accommodate the more than 100,000 sign-ups acquired on the first day of testing alone. Commercial service is now live in Japan and Gamepot is working to deliver an English version to fans in the U.S. and Europe in early 2012.

A revival of the legendary Wizardry titles, Wizardry Online is the next-generation incarnation of a series that has been called the godfather of the role-playing game (RPG) genre. Wizardry first came to computers in the early 1980s, and the popularity of its “Dungeons & Dragons”-style gameplay led to the creation of countless sequels, spin-offs and collections across multiple platforms.
Developed in conjunction with Japanese game studio Headlock Inc., Wizardry Online offers multiplayer features new to the Wizardry series, including party play and player versus player (PvP) combat, while maintaining the classic style for which the series is beloved. Hardcore gamers will revel in the return of the complex dungeons that punctuated earlier iterations, and soon will find that the game is fraught with significant peril: Wizardry Online features permanent death, in which player characters can be removed from the game upon dying, creating a more immersive experience.
